What is a color seal?
Color sealant is simply a stone sealer that has a strong colorized solvent added in. It’s applied directly to the top of the grout, and locks onto it like paint applied to the body of a vehicle. Your grout will still look like grout, only it now has a colorized layer on top protecting it from all the elements. When you go to wash it, grime and grit just washes away. A good color sealant should last you 5 – 10 years, and maybe even longer depending on care, usage, and water quality.

Should new grout be color sealed?
Yes, even new grout should have a layer of color sealant put down. Besides just looking nice, it’s like a shield protecting your grout from all the dirt, grime, and other grout contaminants.

Do you sand or grind out the old grout?
No. This was actually the “old way” of doing grout. Crews would actually grind out the existing grout and put new grout down. This method was messy, noisy, expensive and time consuming. There’s really no need to do grout like this anymore. The modern way to do grout is simply to professionally deep clean it, and then apply a color seal on top.

Can you fix the moldy/peeling caulking in the corners?
Yes! We can remove it, and lay down new epoxy caulking.

Can you fix my cracked tile(s)?
Yes! We can patch the crack and use various color sealants to camouflage the crack. However, the crack cannot be made invisible. If you have a leftover tile from the original job, we can pull up the cracked tile and replace it with your spare. If you don’t have a spare tile, then the patch may work well for you.

How long after you have left until I can use my bathroom/kitchen/foyer?
Flooring can be walked on 6 hours after the technician completed the job, but showers need 48 hours before usage. Failure to adhere to these guidelines could lead to sealant failure.

What does the clear stone sealer do and how does it work?
Whether it is floors or countertops, your stone is like a sponge. Our stone sealant soaks into the top layer of the stone and creates an impermeable barrier. The stone sealant provides a protective layer that blocks out dirt, oils, and grime from entering the stone. Stone sealant will not make your floor slippery; the friction under your feet will be the same as before. After we’re done servicing any type of stone, we recommend the application of stone sealant. The sealant will last about a year. At which point it’s a good idea to clean it, and then seal it again.

How do I clean the tile and grout once the work is complete?
We highly recommend you clean all grout and tile using a Neutral pH Cleaner. These water based cleaners, are not acidic and won’t eat away at your tile, grout and caulking the way that bleaches and other harsh cleaners will. Spray the mix onto tiled surfaces and wait a few minutes. Then use a cloth to wipe the tiles + grout clean. DO NOT SCRUB THE AREA OR USE ANY PRODUCTS THAT CONTAIN BLEACH OR HARSH CHEMCIALS AS THIS WILL DESTROY THE SEAL AND VOID YOUR WARRANTY.
